Last week the Upper Merion Board of supervisors recently approved plans for a 300,000 square foot Fed Ex distribution center to be located at 600 River Road in the Swedeland neighborhood of Upper Merion Township.  According to news reports, Fed Ex will pay the Township almost $600,000 in traffic impact and open space fees.  When operational, an estimated 250 tractor trailer trucks will enter and leave the facility.  A traffic light on River Road is also proposed.  The facility is expected to open in August of 2016.
